This is not medical advice

The practices, recordings, articles and resources on melaniaromanelli.com are offered for general wellbeing and relaxation. They are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and they are not a substitute for care from a qualified healthcare professional.

Nothing on this Site is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition, including insomnia or any other sleep disorder.

Speak to your doctor first

Consult your physician before beginning this or any movement, breathing or relaxation practice — particularly if you have or suspect any of the following:

  • a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, or a history of stroke
  • a diagnosed sleep disorder, including sleep apnoea
  • injury, recent surgery, joint problems, or chronic pain
  • epilepsy, dizziness or fainting episodes
  • a psychiatric or neurological condition, or ongoing treatment for one
  • any condition affected by breathing exercises

If you are taking prescribed medication for sleep, anxiety or mood, do not change or stop it because of anything you read or hear here. That decision belongs to you and your doctor.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are trying to conceive, speak to your doctor or midwife before practising, and tell your teacher. Some positions and breathing techniques are not suitable during pregnancy. You practise at your own risk and that of your unborn child.

Practise at your own risk

Yoga, movement and breathwork carry a risk of injury, and can aggravate an existing condition. You are responsible for judging your own limits. Work gently, never force a position, and stop immediately if you feel pain, breathlessness, dizziness or distress. By practising with our materials you accept these risks.

Recorded practices are not supervised

Guided recordings cannot see you, correct you, or adapt to your body. Practise in a safe, clear space. Never listen to a yoga nidra or relaxation recording while driving, cycling, operating machinery, or doing anything that requires your attention — these practices are designed to make you drowsy.

If you are struggling

Persistent sleeplessness can be a symptom of a medical or mental health condition that deserves proper care. If your sleep does not improve, or if you are experiencing distress, please speak to your doctor. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line in your country straight away.

Individual results vary

Experiences described by others are personal to them and are not a prediction of your results.
